Why the word "Reprieve"?

Reprieve:  an escape from a bad situation or experience:

"The injection provided a temporary reprieve from the pain."

That is what massage can be for many. A temporary relief of pain and discomfort. True health and wellness starts at home in between massage sessions. Let me help you achieve that goal!

Experienced Knowledge

I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience throughout the years of working with great clients and along side other amazing therapists! With that experience as a bodywork therapist let me help you feel better, sleep better, live better.

Cupping and Scraping

Both are offered with any session at no additional cost.

Cupping therapy is a noninvasive treatment that is said to have many benefits, including:

  • Pain relief: Cupping therapy can reduce pain and inflammation, and some say it can help with chronic neck and back pain.
  • Improved blood flow: Cupping increases blood circulation at the site of application, which can help with muscle recovery and promote cell repair.
  • Increased range of motion: Cupping therapy can help increase range of motion.
  • Reduced muscle tension: Cupping can help relieve muscle tension and tightness, especially for athletes.
  • Improved sleep: Some say that cupping therapy helps them sleep better.

Cupping therapy is performed by placing a glass or plastic cup on the skin and vacuuming out the air. The cups can be used while the client is moving or at rest, and the application usually lasts 5–10 minutes. A common side effect is a bruise in the shape of the cup, which usually goes away within a couple of days.

Therapeutic scraping has many benefits, including:

  • Pain relief: Scraping can help with pain from muscle strains, sprains, tension headaches, and chronic pain
  • Improved flexibility: Scraping can help break down scar tissue and adhesions, which can improve flexibility and range of motion
  • Reduced inflammation: Scraping can help reduce inflammation, which can help athletes recover from injuries and training sessions
  • Improved circulation: Scraping can help increase blood flow to muscles and joints, which can help with healing and tissue regeneration
  • Reduced stress and anxiety: Scraping can help release endorphins and promote a sense of calm and well-being
  • Boosted immune system: Scraping can help stimulate the lymphatic system and promote detoxification
  • Improved skin appearance: Scraping can help increase circulation and promote collagen production, which can improve skin tone and texture
  • Reduced risk of future injury: Scraping can help prevent injury and maintain optimal physical health.

Scraping is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) technique that involves using a small, hard tool to scrape the skin and massage underlying tissues. Typically after scraping therapy the area treated will have small bruising with some soreness for a couple of days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All massages are tailored to YOUR needs and desired outcome. Some do not need much work on legs and more focus on the upper body. If you want to come in and spend the whole 1 hour session focusing on upper body only,  then that can be accommodated. However, any session over 60 minutes will need to be full body with the main focus being your trouble area as it is not beneficial to overwork a muscle group.

Mainly used to help relax your body and restore health. It can also effectively be used as a stress reliever. Using light and gentle strokes meant to be relaxing and calming.

Targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the bodies surface using deeper slow strokes with direct pressure or friction movements going against the muscles grain. Can be painful.

Is a more broader term using a variety of techniques from swedish and deep tissue while focusing on groups of muscles leading to the main area of discomfort.

You will undress to your comfort level and be fully draped with a sheet and blanket. Only the areas being worked will be exposed then recovered after working that area.
